After reading the definition of super platforms, I’d like to think I’ve used a couple like WeChat and Notion, and to be honest I am not a fan.

I belong to the category of people who believe in product-focus and a platform narrowing the scope of what they do and doing it really well.

Each of those problems, in my opinion, is very different in context, and what is required to make each one of those facets work differs. Why something like WeChat works in China I am still not sure but personally I hated the entire experience.

It’s why I love Basecamp, Todoist, WhatsApp, SafeBoda, Gumroad, and platforms that do very little things but do them really really well. It’s also part of the reason I don’t use UberEats and yet use Uber.
